Actually, the Milty Zerostat is so effective that laboratories involved in producing scanning electron microscopy images use the Zerostat 3 to eliminate dust clinging to materials being imaged due to an electrostatic charge. Labs and clean rooms utilize the Zerostat to keep dust off glass, lenses, samples, instruments, and other laboratory equipment. Incorporating a unique piezo-electric crystal device which generates a powerful stream of negative ions with one gentle squeeze of the trigger, and an equally large positive stream on release of the trigger. In this way the negative charge, on a vinyl record or photographic film is simply swept away. The Zerostat 3 produces negative and positive ions that couple with the positive and negative static charges on the surface of your LP, DVD and CD effectively neutralizing static electricity.

Constructed of durable hard plastic material,  it optimizes 50,000 trigger operations. There is no requirement for electricity, batteries, or refills.  The two piezo-electric crystals contacting one another via the trigger mechanism generate the charged ions without need of a power supply. When used in combination with a Goldring cleaning brush will keep your vinyl collection dust free.

While holding your vinyl record in one hand, position the Zerostat 3 pistol so that the end of the pistol is approximately 12 inches from your vinyl record. Slowly squeeze the trigger, and a powerful stream of positive ions projects over a spread of about 16 inches. Release it slowly, and negative ions are produced. Repeat this process 4 times. Now remember the Zerostat generates charged ions, so ensure you don’t pull the trigger while pressing the end of pistol against your body, as unfortunately you will receive a painful zap of energy.

Ensure you are pulling the trigger slowly otherwise you will hear a ‘clicking sound’ from the Zerostat. Any clicking indicates the trigger is being squeezed and released too quickly, please start the process again at much slower pace. The Milty Zerostat is packaged complete with instructions, plus includes a special ion-indicator which shows you that Zerostat is working as expected. By plugging the indicator into the end of the ‘pistol,’ and squeezing the handle, the small neon tube will highlight red.
